## Executive Summary
How to evaluate scene representation, tracking, device constraints and useful evidence for a spatial computing product.

## What a scene representation does—and does not prove

3D Gaussian Splatting represents a scene using explicit primitives with position, shape, opacity and view-dependent appearance. The original research demonstrates a rendering approach and publishes its evaluation conditions; those results should not be transferred to an arbitrary headset or scene.

Choose a representation around the interaction required. Visual inspection, measurement and remote control have different accuracy, safety and update requirements. A convincing reconstruction is not automatically a trustworthy geometric measurement.

## Tile-Based Differential Rasterization Pipeline

A splatting renderer projects scene primitives into the image and accumulates their contributions. The original implementation uses a visibility-aware rasterization approach. Rendering cost depends on the scene, view, resolution and implementation.

For example, a primitive's position can be represented as $(x, y, z)$. Keep coordinate units and transforms explicit throughout capture, reconstruction and viewing. A useful prototype checks visual artifacts as well as frame time.

## Low-Latency SLAM & Coordinate System Reconciliation

A spatial overlay needs to remain aligned with the world or object it describes. Test tracking loss, drift and changes in lighting or scene content. Define how uncertainty is shown to the person using the interface.

There is no universal tracking-frequency or latency guarantee. Record the sensors, runtime, reconstruction method and reference measurements. High-impact uses need safeguards beyond the visual representation.

## Choosing a deployment runtime

Treat each deployment runtime as a compatibility decision. Verify graphics features, input controls, resource limits and the intended device's supported APIs before promising a shared implementation across browser and native targets.

A first deliverable can be a device-specific viewer with a documented scene format and loading budget. Avoid presenting pseudocode or an internal package name as an available production SDK.

## Real-World Industrial Telepresence Potential

Evaluate remote inspection with real users and representative scenes. Ask whether the view supports the task, where information is missing and when the user must return to an original image or qualified on-site assessment.

A benchmark should disclose scene size, resolution, device, software versions and sustained frame-time measurements. [Explore spatial computing expertise](/capabilities/spatial-ar-vr) for the technical scope; no client performance result is claimed in this guide.

## Verified Claims & Scope
- **Claim:** 3D Gaussian Splatting uses explicit primitives for radiance-field rendering.
